Simple habits can go a long way in maintaining breast wellness:
🥗 Eat a balanced, anti-inflammatory diet rich in fruits, vegetables, fibre, and healthy fat
🏃♀️ Stay physically active regular exercise supports hormonal balance and immune health
🚭 Avoid smoking and limit alcohol intake
💤 Manage stress and get plenty of sleep: chronic stress can impact hormone levels
📅 Perform monthly breast exams to notice any changes in breast
What to look out for: symptoms to take seriously
If you notice any of the following signs, don’t ignore them. While most may not be serious, it’s always worth checking with a doctor:
A lump or thickening in the breast skin or underarm
Persistent pain in one spot
Changes in size or shape of the breast
Dimpling or puckering of the skin
Nipple discharge (especially if bloody)
Redness, rash, or scaling of the nipple or breast
Swelling or warmth in part of the breast
Family history of breast cancer
High breast density
Hormonal imbalances or long-term hormone therapy
Poor lifestyle (diet, exercise, alcohol/smoking)
Age (risk increases with age, but younger women are not exempt)
